Magherafelt Manor residents have rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a blooming marvellous garden renovation project.
Residents enjoyed a summer of planting flowers, decorating ornaments, and creating artwork for the garden.
Siobhan Conway, Home Manager, commented:
“Seeing the smiles on our residents faces throughout this project has been a joy to watch, and now that the garden is complete, the residents love to come out here and keep an eye on how the plants are coming along.
“Gardening is a fun way for our residents to stay active and is great for their mental health too. It gives them a chance to get creative and bond with each other through a shared pastime.
“The residents were even able to teach our team a thing or two about gardening!”
Mairead, resident at Magherafelt Manor, says:
“Gardening has been a favourite hobby of mine over the years and I am really pleased to have been able keep it up at Magherafelt Manor.
“The garden is a lovely place to relax and appreciate the wonderful colours.”
Magherafelt Manor was runner up in the recent Blooming Marvellous NI Competition for their hard work in transforming the outdoor space.
