From light touch residential care and short stay respite breaks, through to dementia care and nursing, our homes offer support in numerous ways, to meet the needs of more than 800 individuals who choose to live with us.

Kathryn Homes offers respite and permanent care placements across 12 residential homes in Northern Ireland. We aspire to continuously meet the varying needs and lifestyle wishes of every adult and older person in our care.

Residential Care

Our care homes offer a comfortable and safe place to call home, with a dedicated care and wellbeing team available 24 hours a day. We provide a person-centred approach to residential care; treating each resident as an individual, celebrating their life and tending to their particular needs and wishes.

Our home-from-home living spaces offer clean, soft and welcoming interiors, which are light and spacious too. Residents may bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their fully furnished private bedroom space and make it their home.

We provide varying levels of personal care support, depending upon individuals’ needs, always with utmost dignity and respect. We also assist with everyday tasks, provide meaningful activities, entertainment and company, for a stimulated lifestyle, whilst keeping a close eye on general health and wellbeing.

Residential Dementia Care

Offering 24 hour, specialist care and support for people living with dementia, our kind and professional teams are highly trained to understand and care effectively and compassionately at all times.

Our homes offer a calm and safe setting, for residents to relax and enjoy life. Carefully considered activities and reminiscence therapy, organised by our Wellbeing teams, aim to encourage stimulation and help with enabling our residents to live a quality, happy and fulfilled later life.

The effects of dementia varies, and whatever a resident’s capabilities, our residential dementia services encourage independence, and promote a sense of purpose and belonging, amongst family and friends, to live as well as possible.

Nursing Care

Our nursing provision adopts all of the facilities and services as for residential care, but with the additional support of Registered General Nurses, offering a bespoke, fully equipped, 24 hour nursing service in a comfortable, safe and homely environment.

We are closely allied with local and specialist medical teams, to support residents who may have a medical condition that requires regular attention from nurses, doctors or other healthcare professionals.

Our teams are proud to work in accordance with the six core elements of nursing; care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.

Nursing Dementia Care

The nursing units within our caring homes are specially designed to be safe for people with both dementia and nursing care needs. Our Registered General Nurses and experienced care givers, together, provide customised care, with 24-hour support and supervision.

We stringently follow bespoke care plans, which are configured and developed alongside residents, family members and any external medical professionals, and we strive for best possible outcomes at all times.

With a focus on monitoring and providing treatments for health conditions, we also provide suitable social activities for every individual. We ensure that residents receive regular, meaningful interaction and provide reassurance, comfort and emotional support, to enhance their feeling of wellbeing.

End of Life Palliative Care

This type of high quality care is provided to those who are nearing end of life. We strive to provide a quality of life for every individual, and ensure that end of life or palliative care residents are comfortable and fully supported, and treated with the greatest dignity and respect.

Our teams take into account the preferences and wishes of the individual and their family, and provide personal care, stimulation, comfort and any medical support required, to enable the individual to live as well possible for as long as possible.

The compassion and respect shown by our caring teams enables residents to always feel safe and secure. We care closely, involving family and friends too, and are honoured to often provide that much-needed emotional support too.

Respite Care

When there is availability, we can offer short term relief for primary care givers, enabling them a well-deserved rest. This extra support service welcomes temporary residents, with varying levels of dependency as well as those living with dementia, to live in a wonderful, sociable, home-from-home setting, fully catered for around the clock by a team of friendly and dedicated professionals.

You can feel assured that your loved one is in safe hands with us, and they’ll have their own personal care and wellbeing support plan too. You may also wish to consider the option of permanent residency, if and when required. Our team will remain on hand for any relating queries you may have.
